Research on how children learn mathematics has grown tremendously over the past several decades, helping teachers create learning environments that build deeper understanding, confidence, and problem-solving skills.

This website was created for families, caregivers, and community members who want to better understand what effective mathematics teaching looks like today and why students may be learning mathematics in new ways. Through easy-to-read infographics and short videos, we explain the research behind classroom practices such as mathematical discussions, visual representations, collaborative problem solving, and productive struggle.
